Business program internationally recognized

Conestoga announced today that the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that the college’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business Management - Human Resource stream fully aligns with SHRM’s HR curriculum guidebook and templates. It is the first Canadian program to receive such an acknowledgement.

Based in the United States, SHRM is the world’s largest HR membership organization devoted to human resource management, and represents more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries. The organization has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the US as well as subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates. Throughout the world, 342 programs at 261 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates.

As a result of the official acknowledgement, graduates of the Conestoga program who have 2 years of related work experience will now be eligible to write certification exams to qualify for the globally recognized Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation as well as the Canadian Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
