Conestoga earns women's fastball bronze

The Conestoga College women's fastball team earned a bronze medal at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association playoffs in Mississauga on the weekend.

It is the first medal the Condors have won in women's fastball since 2001. It was the first time Conestoga made the playoffs since 2009.

Conestoga was shut out 3-0 in its final game by the Humber Hawks, who defeated St. Clair College to win the title.

The Condors scored a big win earlier when it knocked Durham College out of playoff contention with a 4-3 victory. Durham, a perennial powerhouse, had made it to the medal round for 16 consecutive years.

Conestoga finished the season with a record of eight wins and 10 losses
