Conestoga grad named to OCAA Hall of Fame

David Long, a 1995 graduate of Conestoga's Construction Engineering Technology program, is a 2013 inductee into the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Hall of Fame.

Long is a two-time OCAA hockey scoring champion and three-time OCAA medalist who played for the Conestoga Condors. In his debut season (1992-93), he led all OCAA players with 47 points, scoring 29 goals and 18 assists. He was named an OCAA League All-Star and played an instrumental role in Conestoga’s achievement of a bronze medal standing at season's end.

Long continued his strong play in 1993-94, winning another scoring championship with 28 goals and 35 assists for 63 points. He was named an OCAA League All-Star and an OCAA Championship All-Star as Conestoga won the OCAA title.

In his third season, Long earned 37 points. He was named an OCAA Second-Team League All-Star and a OCAA Championship All-Star as Conestoga earned the OCAA silver medal. Long is a member of the OCAA Men's Hockey All-Millennium team.
