Conestoga president urges major reforms in post-secondary education

According to President John Tibbits, too many high school graduates are heading to university when they would be better off in college. In a discussion with the editorial board of the Waterloo Region Record, Dr. Tibbits called for major reform for post-secondary education in Ontario. His proposed changes include more focus on an applied learning system, three-year degrees at colleges, government tax incentives for companies that provide apprenticeships, and a pre-apprenticeship program for secondary school students.
