Strike declared: Conestoga College to remain open

A province-wide strike by Ontario college support staff is in effect as of 12:01 am, September 1.

This event does not affect faculty at Conestoga. All academic activities will proceed as scheduled, and Conestoga will make every effort to minimize disruptions to student services, given the constraints of the situation.

We ask your patience as we address this situation. Check this website regularly for updated information, as it becomes available.

In traveling to and from campus, you may encounter picket-line activity. If you do, keep the following in mind:

  • Allow yourself extra time for travel
  • Consider car-pooling or using public transit
  • Expect delays as you approach the picket line
  • Expect that you may be offered literature or other information
  • Keep conversations pleasant and brief
  • If driving - drive slowly! Stop when necessary. You will be allowed to cross
  • Above all, remain calm, courteous, careful and patient.
