Students Produce Regional Newscast in HD!

Students in the Videography-Broadcast Journalism/Documentary post-graduate program in the School of Media and Design have launched the region's first online newscast shot exclusively in HD.

Their first show was produced October 2nd, and it features a variety of local and college news items. The newscast named "519 online" is an integral part of student learning in the new program, and it will be produced each week for web distribution at www.conestogac.on.ca/519online.

It will also be available to viewers around the world on blip.tv The use of HD cameras in the field and flash technology for web viewing makes Conestoga's new online newsroom cutting-edge in terms of video delivery to the web.

The Videography-Broadcast Journalism/Documentary Program is a new, one year post-graduate program offered at Conestoga. The outstanding faculty and state-of-the-art technology make this an extraordinary program for those looking to gain skills in all elements of ENG (Electronic News Gathering).
