Popular University/College Job Fair Marks 15th Year

It’s a great idea that has become even better with time.

Students and alumni of Conestoga College and the three local universities - Guelph, Wilfrid Laurier and Waterloo - will have an exclusive opportunity to present themselves as outstanding candidates for employment to representatives of firms who now have or soon will have job openings, at the Job Fair on Wednesday, February 6 at RIM Park in Waterloo. Job Fair hours are 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

This will be the 15th annual event, testimony to the value of the co-operation among the four higher education institutions. Several thousand currently enrolled students, from all years of study at their institutions, and alumni are expected to attend. The timing of the event is especially meaningful for students now in their final semester of studies.

More than 250 employers are registered for the event. Their participation indicates that they will have employment opportunities available within the next six months.

Admission is free to anyone with a valid, current student or alumni ID from any of the four participating post-secondary institutions. Full details, including employer profiles, can be found at the event website: www.partners4employment.ca.

Among the many employers represented will be DALSA Corporation, COM DEV, Linamar Corporation, Research In Motion Ltd., ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc., Open Text Corporation, Cargill Ltd., Volvo Construction Equipment, CAMI Automotive Inc., RBC Insurance, Xerox Canada Ltd., Sun Life Financial, Staples Business Depot, Ontario Power Generation, Canada Revenue Agency, Toronto Police Service, Ontario Public Service, Region of Waterloo Public Health, Stratford Shakespeare Festival and GoodLife Fitness Centres.
