Another New Program in the School of Trades and Apprenticeship at Conestoga College- Waterloo Campus

Starting in September 2007, Conestoga College will offer the Welding Techniques Certificate Program at the Waterloo Campus.

This full-time program will consist of 30 weeks of post secondary training. Welding Techniques provides students with a combination of training at both the technician level and the apprenticeship level in the welder trade and includes theoretical knowledge and significant practical skills development training. Graduates will be able to perform a variety of job functions in the field of welding and related industries.

Participants will gain skills in blueprint reading, technical mathematics and communications, welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, electrical fundamentals, , welding quality and inspection and thermal cutting. Upon successful completion of this 30 week program, participants will gain a College Certificate and will be able to write the exemption exams for level 1 & 2 apprenticeship.
