The School of Trades and Apprenticeship at Conestoga College is pleased to announce a NEW initiative at the Guelph Campus from February 5th to September 7th, 2007.
The Truck and Coach Technician Pre-Apprenticeship program is a 23 week in-school program that exceeds the first year of in-school training provided to registered Truck and Coach apprentices. In addition, Academic Upgrading is available for those who have not completed their OSSD. Conestoga College assists students obtain an 8-week work placement following the in-school training. This Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program is funded by the Government of Ontario and is tuition free.
There will be "4" Program Information Sessions offered during December and January.
Guelph Campus: 460 Speedvale Ave. W.
December 14, Jan. 9, Jan. 16 (6-7pm)
Waterloo Campus: 108 University Ave. E.
Dec. 19 (6-7pm)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent (Exceptions will be looked at on an individual basis)
- 16 years of age and over
- A resident of and able to work in Ontario
Candidates interested in being considered for the program will be asked to attend an additional assessment session. (Mathematics, Mechanical Aptitude and English). Selected applicants will be invited to return for a personal interview. Acceptance will be based on a combination of the assessment results and the personal interview.
