Conestoga Rugby Player wins OCAA

jake vandyk

Freshman Jake VanDyk turned some heads this weekend as the Conestoga Condors pulled out a 29-10 win over the Loyalist Lancers. Vandyk, who measures 6'3, scored three tries in the match leading the way for the Condors in their season opening victory. The Condors will get a week off to rest before their next three games against, Mohawk, Fleming and Humber. All three games are on the road.

Here is how our other varsity teams are doing so far this year:

Our men's soccer team is undefeated after a 2-2 tie with Sheridan and a 2-1 win over Lambton.

The women's soccer club started their year by tying Sheridan at 1, then lost to Lambton 2-0.

The women's varsity fastball team is off to a solid 3-2 start. Their only losses came at the hands of St. Clair, the defending champion. Conestoga took both ends of a doubleheader from Cambrian and beat Mohawk 7-1.

Conestoga added a cross country team to it's varsity line-up this year and Trevor Feeney finished 9th overall at the Mohawk/Redeemer invitational.
