Graphics Student Honoured for Cambridge Real Estate Logo

Erin Hill, a second-year student in the Graphic Design program of Conestoga College, has won $500 from the Real Estate Board of Cambridge for her winning design of a new logo for the organization.

The Board was looking for a new visual identity to use on its Web site, stationery and business cards, and approached the Graphic Design program, which has an award-winning reputation in local, regional, provincial and even international competitions. The competition involved more than 30 second-year students.

Initial judging was done by the Board's Computer Design Committee, with the final decision being made by the Board of Directors.

Paul Saunders, Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Real Estate Board of Cambridge, made the award presentation to Erin Hill at Conestoga.

Hill is a graduate of Kitchener's Grand River Collegiate Institute. In her first year at Conestoga, she won awards associated with logo creation for both Victim Services of Waterloo Region and the Suicide Prevention Council of Waterloo Region. She also designed a corporate Christmas/holiday season card for The Walter Fedy Partnership.

The Real Estate Board of Cambridge has more than 300 members and is part of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), which provides development and educational opportunities, products and services to real estate professionals.

Conestoga's Graphic Design program is three years in length and covers a full range of traditional and computerized design and rendering skills associated with commercial design and product advertising graphics.
