Conestoga College Enrollment Increases for Fall 2004

Enrolment in full-time, post-secondary programs at Conestoga College stands at 6,130 as of September 2004. This marks an increase of 4.55 per cent over the September 2003 figure and an increase of 9.21 per cent over the September 2002 figure.

The incoming, first-year group of 3,282 is the largest ever at Conestoga.

By academic division, the total enrolment figures are 1,863 in the School of Business and Hospitality; 1,698 in the School of Health Sciences, Community Services and Biotechnology; 1,688 in the School of Engineering and Information Technology; and 881 in the School of Liberal and Media Studies. All academic divisions show an enrolment increase over 2003 figures.

Looking at the five largest groupings of related programs, Business Administration programs have an enrolment of 1,311, Nursing programs an enrolment of 618, Law Enforcement programs an enrolment of 376, Electrical/Electronics Engineering programs an enrolment of 327, and Mechanical Engineering programs an enrolment of 306.

These figures represent only a portion of Conestoga's enrolment. In academic year 2004-2005, Conestoga also expects to serve 2,500 apprenticeship students, 700 students in preparatory and full-time certificate skills programs, and up to 43,000 registrants in part-time, continuing education courses and programs, as well as customized training activities for businesses, industries and organizations. In all, Conestoga offers more than 160 programs of instruction.
