Conestoga Students Earn Millennium Scholarships

Conestoga Students Earn Millennium Scholarships

Five students in Conestoga College diploma programs are recipients of $4,000 each under the in-course awards program of the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation.

Two of the students have qualified for scholarships that can be renewable for an additional year, while the other three have received one-year awards.

Renewable scholarships go to Ula Cwik of Waterloo, who is a student in the Police Foundations program, and Sarah Roberts of Kitchener, who is enrolled in the Business Administration - Management Studies program. They are two of only 20 Ontario college students earning in-course scholarships.

One-year scholarships go to Michael Gingerich of New Hamburg, a Computer Programmer/Analyst student, Justin Kennedy of Collingwood, who is in the Law and Security Administration program, and Early Childhood Education student LaRonda Shantz of Wallenstein. These three are among a total of only 70 Ontario college students to earn one-time in-course scholarships.

The Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation established these in-course awards to recognize and foster student academic excellence, combined with demonstrated leadership, involvement and motivational ability among peers. All recipients of this scholarship must be full-time students, enrolled in their first program of undergraduate study and maintaining an overall academic average of B+ or better.
