What's New @ the LRC

Check out this selection of some of the latest books and eBooks on topics in health and medicine that we have added to the LRC's collection.

askON is the Library's collaborative online research help service with several other Ontario college libraries. This means you can receive research help anywhere with an internet connection - whether you're at a computer in the Library, in a computer lab, at home, etc.

askON staff can assist you with the process for finding relevant books, articles and other helpful information to support your research assignments and reports.

askON can be accessed from the majority of our Library's web pages by clicking on the logo, or by visiting www.conestogac.on.ca/lrc/contact/askon.jsp.

Hours for Summer 2013 askON service are:
Monday - Thursday: noon - 4pm (until August 2, 2013)

Starting on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 8 am, the computer workstations at the Library (Doon) will receive upgrades from IT Services. These upgrades will be done in batches over several days so that sections of computers will remain available for student use during this period. Students may want to consider using their personal laptops or visiting other open access labs for computing and printing needs during this time.

If you have questions regarding computer use in the Library, please direct these to staff at our Service Desk.

Note: Upgrades to the computer workstations at our Cambridge location are complete.

The Libraries at Doon and Cambridge will be closed on Monday, May, 20, 2013 for Victoria Day.

The main building at Doon Campus and its Open Access Computer Labs will be open. Visitors will still have access to The Nook from the hallway across from Security.

Access to Cambridge Campus and the study area of the Library will also be accessible. Please check-in at the Security Desk.

Library Card/PINS
Your Conestoga ID card is your Library Card and it can be registered or renewed at our Service Desk. During this process, you will also receive your 4-digit PIN for accessing the Library's online resources (e-Books, article databases) from anywhere off-campus. Resources
The Library provides access to all forms of print and electronic resources (books, articles, media, etc.), with the emphasis being that the thousands of titles and articles available from our online collection can be accessed anytime and anywhere you have Internet access. The back area of the Library is now open for study and group work. We thank you for your patience while our windows were repaired over the week of April 29.

The entire Library is currently a QUIET STUDY ZONE during the exam period at both Doon and Cambridge campuses.

Please be respectful of everyone studying. Keep conversations quiet at all times and cell phones muted. Reserve any extensive conversations for outside of the Library. Students being disruptive to those studying will be asked to leave.

Need added sound buffering? There are two Silent Study Rooms in the Periodicals section of the Doon LRC, PLUS the area outside it and Room 1 will also be designated Silent Study during the exam period. Earplugs are available at the Service Desk.

Extended Exam Hours
