June 12, 2017

Please join us as Conestoga College celebrates 50 years of building communities and careers. As part of the celebration, you're invited to participate in a live streaming event featuring Ken Coates from the University of Saskatchewan.

In the fast changing 21st century, the combined forces of technological change, globalization, political populism, rapid urbanization, and mass advanced education have transformed the world's economies and societies. This presentation reflects on the multi-faceted issues facing the post-secondary sector, emphasizes the growing importance for work-integrated learning, contemplates the threat of the "job-less" economy, and proposes strategies for future-proofing post-secondary institutions.

Ken Coates is the Canadian Research Chair in Regional Innovation, Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan. He was the founding Vice-President (Academic), University of Northern British Columbia and has held administrative posts at the University of New Brunswick Saint John, the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Waterloo. He has published and spoken extensively on post-secondary education.
