Conestoga College is accepting applications for two new tuition-free Pre-Apprenticeship Training Programs which will give participants insight and experience in a skilled trades career and a head-start on achieving apprenticeship certification.
Pre-Apprenticeship Truck and Coach/Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
Starting in March 2017, the Pre-Apprenticeship Truck and Coach/Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program will be offered at Conestoga's Guelph Campus and runs full-time during the day for 23 weeks. The program also features an additional 8 week practical work placement experience.
This program includes multiple trade exposure with Truck and Coach Technician, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Agricultural Equipment Technician and Powered Lift Truck Technician. Commercial Vehicle common core Level 1 apprenticeship in-class training is also included.
Pre-Apprenticeship Welder/Metal Fabricator
Starting in May 2017, the Pre-Apprenticeship Welder/Metal Fabricator program will be offered at Conestoga's Waterloo Campus and runs full-time during the day for 25 weeks. The program also features an additional eight-week practical work placement experience.
Level 1 apprenticeship in-class training is also included.
All candidates interested in either program are required to attend an information session; all sessions will include details on both programs. Program faculty will be available to answer questions and provide a tour of the shop. Additional information session dates can be found here.
Please note that only 24 enrolment spaces are available in each program.
