Making a Web App Look Like a Flash App

Speaker: Phil Cowcill, Professor & Coordinator
Canadore College of Applied Arts and Technology

With the advent of some of the new CSS rules, one can easily create Web pages that appear to animate as smooth as Flash animations. In this session, you will see examples of how to get CSS to do most of the work to animate elements of a Web page.

You will also see how to inject some simple JavaScript in order to change the page layout. After seeing several simple animation examples, we will shift our focus to looking at object-oriented CSS. While it is not true object-oriented, it does lend to managing style sheets in a more consistent way.

We will also briefly look at new style sheet methods that are slowly picking up acceptance.
