Curriculum Mapping (PDEV0198)

May 25, 2015

Section 15

Facilitators: Cheryl Kennedy and/or Mihaela Simion, Curriculum Consultants

Program outcomes are the integral forces that drive program development and review and are fundamental to student success. In this workshop we will be applying a methodology to help us determine if program outcomes and associated courses align with program intent, and the level of alignment, using program curriculum maps.

Curriculum maps are tools that can be used at any stage in the curriculum cycle to provide us with a synopsis of curriculum components and their associated relationships. Mapping processes encourage important dialogue at the program team level as they allow us to explore, uncover and rationalize curriculum choices as a means of validating programs.

The workshop focuses on the hands-on using Conestoga’s curriculum program mapping template featuring real program cases from the college.
