The Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) General Carpentry program starts on September 16, 2014 at the Waterloo Campus. The WIST program is designed for low-income women who are unemployed or underemployed to help prepare them for employment in the Construction sector.

It includes trade-specific training as well as employability and workplace preparation to help women prepare for the demands and expectations of the workplace. Conestoga’s Carpentry Program for Women (WIST) features 28 weeks of in-college instruction, plus ten weeks of practical, on-the-job training. Those who successfully complete the program are ready to pursue employment, apprenticeships or advanced training.

Additional information sessions dates are: May 21, June 11 & June 18.
