Just like the Aretha Franklin song, today is a day where we encourage to “find out what it means to me”! Students from the General Arts & Science and Business Foundation program will be facilitating Campus Service Learning activities in the Student Life Centre. Join in to learn about what respect means in families, the workplace, the environment, in the classroom, on Facebook, and more!
Tuesday: Human Library
Library Resource Centre - 10am-2pm
This interactive event gives students the opportunity to challenge assumptions and stereotypes by engaging in real-time conversations with "Human Books." Learn more and register to attend!
Wednesday: Clothesline Project
Student Life Centre - 10am-1pm
What does a healthy relationship or friendship look like to you? Join us to decorate a t-shirt celebrating the importance of respect in our friendships and personal relationships. This fundraising activity is raising money for Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region and Anselma House.
Thursday: Walk A Mile Day
Student Life Centre - 9am-1pm
What’s it like being in the shoes of someone different from you?
From 9am-11am, students from the Liberal Studies “Multiculturalism” course will be sharing what respect looks like in various cultures, related to body language, eye contact, personal space and other subjects.
From 11am-1pm, your Respect Reps will be encouraging you to “walk a mile in the shoes” of some of other Conestoga students from the perspective of our Respect posters!
