Conestoga College is now accepting applications for:Women in Skilled Trades - General Carpentry
The Women in Skilled Trades (WIST) General Carpentry program starts on September 21, 2009 at the Waterloo Campus!View Poster (pdf)
WIST is a 38 week certificate program that offers 28 weeks of in-school, hands- on training with a 10 week work placement. This is a great opportunity for 25 women who are interested in becoming tradespeople. Conestoga College is pleased to offer the WIST Program for the 7th year running!

To be considered you must do the following:
- ATTEND A PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSION
- ATTEND AN ASSESSMENT SESSION
- PERSONAL INTERVIEW
If you decide that you would like to be considered for the WIST program, you will need to attend one of the following dates:

You will be assessed in English, Mathematics and Mechanical Aptitude. Please be on time!
** Please bring a pencil, eraser, pen and a calculator. You will be provided with a program application form at that time.
Personal Interview
Selected applicants will be invited to return for a personal interview. If you are chosen, you will receive a telephone call to advise you of the date and time of your interview.Please ensure that you bring with you:
- Copy of OSSD, GED or equivalent
- Copy of your high school transcript or college Academic Upgrading transcript if you have not yet completed your OSSD or GED
- Any reference or recommendations letters from employers or instructors in a related field
- Resume
- Social Insurance Number
- Most recent tax assessment documentation (2008)
ACCEPTANCE IS BASED ON A COMBINATION OF YOUR ASSESSMENT RESULTS AND THE PERSONAL INTERVIEW!
